A few pairs of wedges (some espadrilles, what have you) caught my eye for the summer. I obviously didn’t go for the conventional, but for the eye catcher. Here are a few of my favorites…

1. Bamboo Driven 18 Grey Nubuck Platform Cage Wedges (Lulu’s, $36)

I’ve been very fond of the cage heel lately and the thought of owning a nice light grey pair of heels. These may not be the ones, but they are lovely.
2. Spiney Wedge in Light Brown (Aldo, $80)

These are the ones I am most likely to purchase for myself. They are versatile and a seemingly nice light brown color that would serve as a suitable substitute for the Michael Kors peanut colored wedges that are too expensive. I can see myself wearing these with…well…almost everything.
3. Not Rated by Gaga (Piperlime, $79)

—

Of course I’d love anything with the name ‘Gaga’ in it! But really, these are hot. I originally saw them on Lulus.com but they have since sold out on their site. This pair is such an outfit maker.
4. Ellingwood Wedge in Light Yellow (Aldo, $70)

—

What a vibrant, summery looking shoe. These are beautiful, and I can see them going with floral dresses or anything to add a pop of color.
5. Mia Tudor Wedge (Piperlime, $60)

—

This look is in and I’ve seen in everywhere on the most chic of style icons. Cut out and lace up, this shoe could add a bit of pumping up to a basic outfit.
6. Sobeslava in Black Miscellaneous (Aldo, $125)

—

This shoe made me turn my head to the side and take a second and third glance. I’ve seen them in person at the store and the picture does not do them justice. They are part of the Julian Louie for Aldo collection. I’m not so sure about trying to get them, but I have put them with so many outfits in my head it’s ridiculous. Oh, and of course they’re sold out right now.
7. Michael Antonio Galactic Sandal (DSW, $30) I am second most likely to get these. Actually with that price, it’s very likely. They look funny at first glance, but I have seen a picture of them on actual human feet and they look so cute. I keep imagining an outfit with a blue/red/white abstract patterned shirt, jeans, and these heels and so much more.

As I go through all these shoes and other heels I pick out I ask myself, where would one wear these? My small college town isn’t the most fashion friendly place. Not that I care what anyone thinks, it’s simply not practical to consider walking across a huge campus in any of these. I have, however, had my eye on a very tall fella and if anything happens with that, I could wear them out on dates with him. …What? A girl can dream. My wardrobe imagination goes into scenarios too, far beyond the closet and every day life.
